Unwilling to let another man control her life, Dr. Jordan Reed hires Brock Hamill to portray her love interest to satisfy her nagging sister. Part of the bargain is that Brock convinces her ex-boyfriend that she has moved on. But Brock has other plans that Jordan doesn’t know about. He blames her for his brother’s failure and embarks on a mission to destroy her psychiatric credibility. Acting the part of a patient, Brock disguises himself and sets out on his mission, but when he realizes the doctor actually does have a sweet and giving heart, he changes his plans. Will Jordan forgive his deceit when she’s learned the truth? Especially since she needs him to protect her from a madman.

I've read a couple of this author's works, and they've never really impressed me much. This one didn't change things for me either. It was a quick enough read, but nothing spectacular.Deception abounds in this story, both by Jordan and Brock. Jordan also seemed entirely too gunshy to be able to pull of the scheme that she was attempting. Brock was very confusing with the multiple deceptions he was trying to weave around Jordan, and he never once thought to check his brother's story out! While I appreciated his attempt to reconcile Jordan with her sister, it seemed like he was just paying it all lip service.
This isn't one I'd keep in my Kindle library and it's one I'd hesitate to recommend.

This book could do with an editor (or friend) to point out the inconsistencies, such as people who didn't witness events, nor were they told of them, but they know all about them.
A little more research into psychiatry would be useful too, especially when your main character is supposed to be a psychiatrist. For a start, a psychiatrist is also a medical doctor, so that's 7 years of medical training, before you can specialise in psychiatry, which is another 4 years. Considering that out good doctor is supposed to be 30 and has been in practice for 3 years... Do we assume she's a prodigy who started her medical degree at 16? Also, a psychiatrist would know how rare (and disputed) cases of multiple personality really are, not diagnose every second person she meets with it. I will admit though, that the heroes actions are so ill thought out, poorly executed and explained, that I will forgive her diagnoses in that instance.
I know this was supposed to be a comedy but while some things were clearly intended to raise a smile, they were clumsily handled, which sucked all the fun out of the situations. I can honestly say, I did not find anything in this book amusing, although I will admit that some situations had the potential to be.
The plot was also choppy, almost like a book written in modules with little cross over between sections and when things got dull, a new module was introduced. Unfortunately, I'm at 88% and I still don't care who wants to kill her. Not even enough to skip ahead.
Nice try but it needs a lot of work before this is an engaging read.
Lots of romance, intrigue, some suspense. The plot is fast-moving. Very different storyline, quite original. I enjoyed it. I recommend it.
A good story. There is laughs, heartache, jealousy, suspense and romance. Well written, good characters.

I've read the original story and I must admit the rewritten version is more perfect! Adding Cupid to the mix is simply genius. I've always loved Marie's stories and Finding the Perfect Man is in my favorite reading list.
